As the summer approaches, many a person’s calendars are starting to fill up with social engagements. Weddings, parties and race meetings are the ideal excuse for the discerning lady to stay on trend with fashion and accessories, and knowing where to source the perfect piece is absolutely vital.
Enter Gallery 9. Owned and operated in Ireland by Niamh McCoy,the Naas based store has grown from strength to strength in the three years since its inception. Niamh has a natural instinct for fashion trends coming through,a supreme eye for style and a generous and personable manner-all of which make her the perfect ‘go to’ person for your outfits and accessories.
Niamh demonstrated her talent and natural flair for fashion when winning the best dressed lady at the Punchestown Racing Festival in 2006,sourcing her outfit on a student budget from Kalu Boutique in Naas. Her use of modern and classic trend combined impressed judge Yasmin Le Bon,and it was upwards from there. Herself a distant relative of the great jump jockey AP McCoy,Niamh has always held a keen interest in horses and her Gallery 9 pieces are particularly popular with lady race goers in Ireland.

During a recent television interview on the programme ‘Xpose’,Niamh spoke about the concept behind Gallery 9,and some of the designer lines she stocks which include Roberto Collina,Candice Cooper and Cacharel-

‘We wanted to do something different. Opening in a recession,it HAD to be different,it needed to be unique and we decided that we wanted to bring labels to Ireland that hadn’t been in Ireland before. We brought the likes of Solace London and Paper London,Dice Kayak-a few really unusual labels-as well as more well known brands like Victoria Beckham and Joseph. Our customers would generally prefer to buy one exclusive piece that’s right for them rather than several pieces that aren’t quite what they want. We have customers nationally and locally, looking for items for all occasions’.
Shortlisted in the ‘Best Contemporary’ category in the Xpose Frock Advisor Awards and fresh from a trip to fashion week in Paris, the future looks bright for Niamh and Gallery 9. You can find Gallery 9 online at http://www.gallery9.ie and also on Facebook.

I am a Sports horse producer based in Ireland. That sounds very grand....the reality is that life here is crazy-trying to fit four horses,200 cattle,a baby and a husband into a day results in tales of the insane and a feeling of lurching through life with no clue what's going on. I have a keen interest in everything from planets to bones to quantum mechanics, and am a perpetual asker of the question 'why?'.
